What you need

tbsp cinnamon

salted butter

tsp baking soda

pinch ground nutmeg

pinch salt

cup flour

tbsp vanilla extract

cup powdered sugar

cup buttermilk

cup sour cream

tbsp maple syrup

tsp ground clove

cup brown sugar
egg

Instructions
For the Banana Bread: 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF. 2. Brown 1 stick of salted butter in a pan over low heat; when it turns brown, set aside to cool. 3. Put 3-4 ripened bananas in a bowl. 4. Add 1 cup of brown sugar. 5. Add 1/3 cup of buttermilk. 6. Add 2 eggs. 7. Add 1/2 cup of sour cream. 8. Add 1 tbsp of vanilla extract. 9. Mix until well combined. 10. Once the browned butter is cooled, add this to the wet mix and combine well. Set aside. 11. In a separate bowl, add 1/4 tsp ground cloves. 12. Add 1 tbsp cinnamon. 13. Add 1 3/4 cups of flour. 14. Add 1 tsp of baking soda. 15. Add a sprinkle of salt. 16. Add nutmeg and combine dry ingredients well. 17. Add dry mix to wet mix, being sure to mix slowly. 18. Put into your preheated oven at 350ยฐF for 25-30 minutes. Check if it's cooked through the center with a wood toothpick; if it sticks to the toothpick, it's not ready. Be mindful that banana may rub off on the toothpick, which is normal. For the Frosting (Optional): 1. In a separate bowl, mix 3 cups of powdered sugar. 2. Add 1/4 cup (half a full stick) of melted salted butter. 3. Add 1 tbsp of vanilla extract. 4. Add 3 tbsp of maple syrup. 5. Add 1 tsp of cinnamon. 6. Add a dash of ground cloves and nutmeg. 7. Add 2 tbsp of water and mix. Your frosting will be thick, which is okay. If you want it thinner, add 1 tbsp of water at a time. 8. Once your bread has cooled completely (emphasis on cooled, otherwise the frosting will melt off), add your frosting and enjoy!View original recipe
